Where to start?
I kind of cooked my 89 Camry SV21 3SFE motor.
I found out that this was a due to a corroded whatever that part is that the temperature sensor screws into that is bolted onto the head
It never registered on the gauge that it was overheating (or I didn't notice it) it just stalled and I was like hmmm that was odd pulled to the side of the road and steam was everywhere. I didn't fix it cause I needed another car immediately so I just bought a bomb and I haven't fixed the camry yet
The car can still start, has no water in the oil or oil in radiator but the plugs get oily.
What sort of job do you think im looking at here to get this fixed?
Is it worth pulling the head off and getting it crack tested or is it more cost viable to just get a recon head regardless. Should I do this even if i can see that the head gasket is blown?
What sort of other possible damage could've been done and what should i definitely be checking out here. I can't say I've ever cooked a motor before so not too sure what i should be looking for.
