Default Camry 5sfe question

Hi guys, new to the forum.

I have a 92 XLE with 100k+ miles on it. The engine is in good shape, but the gaskets are starting to wear and will require replacing someday. Rather than spending the money on this, or spending the money on a new car, i was considering buying a new engine for the car since i still love the styling and ride.

If I were to do this, I would love to get a more powerful engine than the current I4. Does anyone know the feasibility/rough cost of swapping a 3VZFE, 1MZ, or 3SGTE engine for the 5sfe?

Thanks
Brian

Hardened and leaking gaskets are no reason to replace your engine. This particular engine will last for several hundered thousand miles when maintained (which will include replacing seals and gaskets as they leak) In most cases, it's usually the valve cover gasket, distributor Oring, or one of the seals beneath the timing cover that leaks. Not a major job for a DIY'er looking for a challenge though i'd save the timing cover seals for someone more qualified. Note: Even the V6 has it's own share of leaks.

Good Luck
