Squeaking steering column
2003 toyota camry squeaking steering wheel...any solutions? How safe is it to continue driving in that state? It squeaks only when the wheel is rotated at static or near-static conditons...meaning, when reversing the car or moving out of parked spaces or steering at very slow speeds around sharp turns...please advise if it would be covered by toyota warranty?
thanks

Parts of the steering linkage are loose and need to be tightened; your tires are hitting or rubbing against something; or you have worn suspension parts (ex: toyota suspension bushing). try to check it.. you could also ask the delear what might be the problem.. good luck
My steering had a squeak also that was mighty irritating...
The solution was to spray a bit of WD40 into the boot/rubber section where the steering column inside the car (near the pedals) that goes into the firewall section of the car.
