Default 1989 Camry - sunroof problems

The sunroof in my car will not work. It will only open around 1" if I help it with my hand, and I have to push it up in the rear to close it again. The rear of the sunroof feels "loose" when it's not closed. How is this thing built and what can be wrong? The Haynes manual does (of course) not mention one word about sunroofs..

Problem solved!
It turned out that the sunroof had just been sitting too long without being used. I removed the glass, cleaned and lubricated everything, and now it works like a dream again..

Hey i'm having a very similar problem on my 89 camry.

How did you go about removing it? did you just take off all the interior stuff and then a couple screws or what?

thanks.

Default sunroof problems

I am also having sunroof problems. On my 99 Solara I accidently pushed up on sunroof from inside car and now it closes about two thirds of the way.It appears to be touching at the top on the back side as if I pushed it out of the track . (not sure)Just do not know how to fix.
