So as i was driving home the other night my 1994 camry died with no apparent warning. it had been making no weird noises (that i could hear) and was driving fine. i wasnt able to start it until the next morning. once i got it turned over i was able to drive it around the block but half about half way it started to die again. then it started smoking from underneath the battery tray/drivers side headlight. help me out. i dont want to get rid of this car i love it.

 

Smoke as in something burning, wire insulation?

What kind of noises?

 

it was definetly smoking from underneath the battery tray and not the engine. unfortunately i couldnt pin point exactly where. it wasnt really making any abnormal noises until after it killed. now it just idles really really poorly and stalls in drive. im feeling like its probably electrical but im kind of stumped
