Default window

on my 97 camry le. the right/rear window will not go up or down. i was checking to see if it was working and it went half way down and now it wont go up or down. i think i could be the motor. please help?

The same thing happened to my old 2000, it was the motor.

The window won't move either with the master switch or the RR door switch? You could pull the switch and test it for power as well as jumping the wires to see if the motor attempts to move.

thanx. but i was wondering how to get the door pannel off. i can get all the screws off but the door pannel wont budge. is there clips that i have to move around a certain way. and ya it wont work with both, the master and the RR switch.

You have to take off the arm rest and plastic piece behind the door handle.There are usually clips that need to be pryed off from underneath the panel at its outer edges. I would get a panel clip pry tool. They are roughly shaped like a "V" so you don't pull the panel away from the clip, but if you're careful a large screwdriver may work.

thanx. im going to have one of my friends who does body work come and help me. he also can put the new motor in if it is that is bad.

ok my friends came over but could only stay for a little bit. we were able to get the door panel off but how do i change the motor without haveing to take out the glass or is there a way to drop it down enough to get to taking it off the gears?

There should be a couple of nuts/bolts that hold the glass to the window regulator. If you remove those the window should go up to give you access to the motor. You can tape it in the up position over the window frame. You may also have to remove an inner crash brace as well. It's tight and a bit of a knuckle buster, but do-able.
