I just bought a 2004 Camry LE V6 with 50,000 miles. Very good shape, except the tires are real worn. And I live in Connecticut, and winter is around the corner.

Can anyone suggest an all-weather tire that will provide good safe traction in winter and also good driving in summer?

Well, I'm sure that you are long past having selected and used up several sets of tires since originally posting your question in 2007 but here is my recommendation for tires on a Camry for anyone else thinking of a change from what came on the car originally.

I have a 2005 V6 SE Camry and switched to Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires when the original Bridgestones wore out.

The Michelins are far better tires all around than the Bridgestones, which I felt were excessively hard and prone to squealing on even low speed sharp turns.

The Michelins seem to have far better grip, particularly in the wet and snow and also provide a smoother ride. Road noise with the windows open seems to be a bit higher than it was for the Bridgestones but is not objectionable at all and is a minor issue compared to all of the other benefits.

The cost of the Michelins in January 2011 was $196 each before balancing and stems, which was not very much more than going with the OEM Bridgestones.

As they say, "Your mileage may vary"!
