steering difficulities
My Son, a College Student drives a '92 Toyota Camry. I am not close by to observe this issue myself, however, he reports increasing difficulty in turning the car. I am thinking low power steering fluid or perhaps issues with the CV joints. Anyone have any advice on how to troubleshoot this one..
Thanks

ask him if it makes any "whirring" noise. a bad power steering pump, or one very low on fluid will do so. there should also be a check point for the PS fluid, and it should be in the owners manual.
By now, hopefully the problems fixed? Heres what i would check:
1. loose power steering belt
2. Low PS fluid level
3. Air in system from a leak (if fluid was low)
4. Sticking pressure relief valve in PS pump
5. Worn out PS pump
6. Worn out front end parts: ball joints etc.
If it got fixed, what did the problem turn out to be ultimately just curious
